Canvas products

Create a product from a physical sheet size where the whole sheet is printable — no mockup, no print-area setup. Ideal for DTF, transfers and full-canvas prints.

A canvas product has no product photo behind the design. The customer designs on a plain sheet of a chosen physical size, and the entire sheet is printable. It is the fastest product type to set up because there is nothing to position.

Use it for:

  • DTF transfers and heat transfers sold by sheet size.
  • Stickers and decals cut to the design.
  • Posters, prints and banners where the artwork fills the medium.
  • Any print-by-the-sheet service where customers supply the artwork.

Step by step

  1. Go to Products → Create product → Create canvas product.
  2. Enter the sheet size — the physical width and height of what you print. This is the design surface and the print area at once.
  3. Name the product and choose a print method. For DTF, pick the method whose export settings match your printer. See Print methods.
  4. Create the product, then Publish to Shopify.

Sheet settings

The sheet size is stored on the product and can be changed later from the product page — the confirmation Sheet settings saved appears when it is updated. Changing the sheet size affects new designs; designs already saved keep the size they were created at.

Offer several sheet sizes by creating one canvas product per size (A4, A3, 22×24…), or by creating variants for each size and setting per-variant print areas.

Side fees do not apply to canvas products

Canvas products use a single sheet, so per-side pricing has nothing to count. If you assign a pricing profile with side fees to a canvas product, Customezo warns you that those fees will not apply there. Use add-on fees instead. See Pricing & fees.

Getting good print files

  • Set the export DPI on the print method to what your printer needs — 300 DPI is typical for DTF.
  • Set a minimum image DPI so shoppers are warned (or blocked) when they upload artwork that is too small for the sheet size. A 22×24 inch sheet needs a very large image to hit 300 DPI.
  • Decide whether you want a trimmed PNG in addition to the full-sheet file. Trimming crops to the artwork’s bounding box, which is useful for single transfers and cut files. The PDF is never trimmed.
  • Set the background — transparent for DTF, white for posters.

All of these live on the print method: Print methods.
